The gameplay in DRKVRS focuses on exploration, intense combat, faction and character development, and a strong narrative. 

Exploration and combat are conducted through maps and instances, featuring PVE, PVP, and PVPVE areas available in both solo and group modes. Instances are repeatable challenges where players can test their skills and acquire unique objects, items, and materials.

The narrative unfolds through an extensive story campaign divided into Seasons. In subsequent Seasons, players will have the opportunity to consciously influence the game's development and decide the direction in which the forces will turn.
