The SEC has closed its investigation into Immutable
Last October, Immutable received a Wells notice from the SEC, suggesting the possibility of recommending charges for violations of U.S. securities law. Today we are happy to report that the SEC has formally decided to end its investigation into Immutable, the IMX Ecosystem Foundation, and Immutable’s CEO. The SEC will not be taking any enforcement action. This brings the matter to a close.
The SEC’s decision to end its investigation is a win for all builders, creators and gamers fighting for true digital ownership in gaming. This vindicates Immutable’s longstanding focus on legal and regulatory compliance.
We welcome the U.S. Government’s commitment to establishing clear regulatory frameworks for the digital assets industry. Constructive regulation provides certainty for builders, and helps foster the innovative potential of blockchain technology.
We continue our vision of bringing digital ownership to gamers
Throughout the investigation we remained laser focused on our vision of bringing true digital ownership to the 3.1 billion gamers across the world. We continued building, launching Immutable Play, a platform dedicated to engaging and rewarding real gamers. We signed a record amount of games and increased the number of Passport sign ups by more than 1 million.
While this is a victory for web3 gaming, it changes little for Immutable. We're going to continue doing what we do best - building products and services for games and players.
We keep building.
